I am obsessed with The Website as a form of art, as a unique medium of journalism, and more generally as a deeply human communication system.
As a software engineer specializing in Front-End Development, I’ve spearheaded architecting, building, and maintaining of some of the most awarded and visited websites on the internet, as well as sleek, performant mobile apps.
I work for ESPN, where my team and I maintain and develop the premier sports website on the Internet.
My previous work has included leading Front-end development and maintenance for the websites and CMS/publishing platform for National Geographic over a seven-year period, whose world-famous content garnered several Webby awards over that time. My talents have also served Coca-Cola, Turner Broadcasting, and the NBA, among others.
I pride myself on being able to adapt and learn any stack required of me, but my tool of choice for complex UIs is React, paired with Redux when the complexity merits it, assisted by Nextjs for making isometric javascript a cinch. I'm also not limited to the web - I am a seasoned mobile app dev as well, where React Native translates my talents to your phone.
Largescale CMS work is second nature, having spent many years working with AEM, Drupal, and others.
Though my 10 years of broad professional experience serve me well, I believe it’s my rabid hunger – for new tech, new techniques, new ways to wink at the user – that makes me most valuable to an engineering team. Send me a note if you’d like to chat.
